Layers magazine is one of the few magazines that covers the entire Adobe Creative Suite with in-depth tutorials, tips, Q&A, etc. When the editor contacted Veerle she jumped on the opportunity to write an extended tutorial about creating your brushes.

Get the grunge out

Grunge is a popular style that has been around now for a couple of years in graphic design. In this article you'll learn to create your own brushes by using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. It's really an exercise in some creative thinking to create these from scratch. Once you create your set of brushes, you can save them and call them up at any time to achieve the grunge style.
